Planning the perfect children’s birthday party is a big deal – trust us, we know how important it is to get right! You want to make the party as fun and exciting as possible to give the Birthday boy or girl and their friends a party never to forget!

As we’re still battling through the brisk winter months, this would be the perfect time to throw a Frozen themed Birthday party for your little one.

We’re pretty sure a lot of children and their parents will have seen Frozen at the movies since its release back in 2013, and instantly fallen in love with the story and its characters. The popularity of the film means that this party theme is definitely set to be a huge hit with the kids!

So the theme is chosen, but now you’ll be thinking about how you can bring the mystic, magic and enchantment to the party. Don’t worry, as we have plenty of suggestions to help you transform the party making it a very special Birthday for one lucky girl or boy!

Food

The Birthday cake could make the perfect centrepiece, therefore think creative and big for maximum impact! How about an Olaf the snowman cake? Being one of the main characters in the film, this would literally go down a treat with the kids!

However, it’s not all about the Birthday cake! How about a Frozen themed buffet including Olaf carrot noses which the kids can have with dips, crackers with snowflake shaped cheese and star shaped sandwiches?

As jelly and ice cream is a hit at any children’s party then why not create blue ice jelly to look like ice blocks and serve with ice cream? Finally, for a refreshing drink why not create your own frozen blue lemonade made from lemonade (home-made if you like), natural blue colouring and plenty of ice! Decorations

Converting the venue into a Frozen theme doesn’t have to be difficult! Just some simple ideas could help transform your venue into the ultimate beautiful frosty haven for your party.

The practicalities of your setting will depend on how you transform your venue. However, you can quickly makeover a room by attaching coloured draping to the walls and ceiling – think blues, whites, silver and aquamarine! You could also attach fairy lights to the walls to create a cosy frozen grotto feel.

Decorative icicles, snowflakes and even little fir trees would add an authentic wintery feel to the party, and if you wanted to create a fresh snow fall look, you could attach pieces of cotton wool to a fishing line and hang from the ceiling.

More decorative accessories could include bunting, large pom poms, tinsel and balloons. Be as creative, inspiring and eccentric as you want! It’s your theme so run with it!

Entertainment

Frozen is the perfect theme for dressing up, therefore encourage the party guests to dress up as characters from the film, and you could even award prizes for the most imaginative costumes!

Kids love party games which can you also twist to fit your theme! Pin the carrot on Olaf, musical statues and pass the parcel are all pretty traditional games for Birthday parties that can easily adapt to the Frozen theme.

Getting kids to be creative is a sure winner at Birthday parties! How about a ‘build a snowman’ competition? Put the kids into teams and nominate one of them to be the ‘snowman’ and then release the loo roll! The team who produces the best looking Olaf using the loo roll and snowman accessories within two minutes’ wins!

You could also buy crown templates made from card or foam and let the kids be creative with paint, glitter and sequins to create homemade crowns for them to take home.

It’s always sad when the party has to draw to an end, so be sure to lift the kids’ spirits with a party bag full of little treats and trinkets for them to take away!
