Twizzle in Kensington

Kensington Gardens and the Palace at dusk

Discreet, bespoke celebrations for Kensington families — planned quietly, delivered exactly.

Kensington is where a surprising amount of our quieter work lives. Not the parties that end up on Instagram, but the ones where a child turns six at a house off Kensington Church Street and nobody outside the family ever sees a photograph. We’ve been planning these events for Kensington families since the late 1970s. A fair number of our current clients are the children of parents we worked with decades ago, which is the highest compliment a party planner can get and the hardest to earn.

The Kensington brief

Families here tend to want three things. The first is discretion — no photos leaving the room, no vendors who’ll drop your address in a pitch deck next month, no party-crashing content. The second is genuine quality — the food should be good, the entertainment should actually entertain, the styling should feel curated rather than dropshipped. The third, and this is the quiet one, is that nothing should feel like work. You shouldn’t be project-managing on the day of your own child’s birthday. That’s what we’re here for.

Venues and settings

A lot of Kensington parties happen at home — the garden squares around Kensington Church Street, the houses off Campden Hill, the mansion blocks overlooking Kensington Gardens. Gardens and garden squares with keys are extraordinary settings if the residents’ association is on board, and we know how to ask. For larger events, we’ve worked with families using the Orangery and private rooms in venues around Kensington Palace Gardens, the Leighton House terrace, the Design Museum for milestone events, and the Serpentine in warmer months. For teens and adults, we’ve run parties in the private rooms of restaurants along Kensington High Street and in Notting Hill a few streets north.

What Kensington events cost

Children’s parties in Kensington run from £1,500 for an elegant home party upwards, with most full-afternoon events between £2,500 and £5,000 depending on guest numbers, theming and catering. Larger events, private-venue hire and milestone family celebrations start higher. Teen parties and adult milestones vary widely — a sixteenth at home with styling, DJ and catering might be £4,000; a full private-venue takeover considerably more. We quote honestly and early.

Why Kensington families choose us

Because we’ve been doing this since 1977 and we know what’s at stake. Because our team signs confidentiality agreements by default, not on request. Because the founder is still the person you can call at seven in the morning on the day of the party. And because nothing we plan ever ends up in the papers unless you want it to.

Frequently asked questions

How much notice do you need for a Kensington event?

Six to eight weeks is comfortable for home parties; for larger private-venue events or garden-square access, allow two to three months so residents’ associations, venues and the schedule all align.

Do you handle private garden-square access?

Yes. Most Kensington garden squares are run by residents’ committees with specific rules and approval processes. We’ve negotiated access for many families over the years and we know how to approach the conversation so it doesn’t feel like an imposition on neighbours.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Our entire team — staff, entertainers and subcontractors — sign confidentiality as default, not on request. Nothing we plan ends up on our website, social media, or in a case study without your explicit written permission.

Do most children’s parties happen at home?

Yes — Kensington homes and garden squares are often better settings than hired venues. We theme the space around the brief rather than trying to move your family into somewhere unfamiliar.
