Notting Hill is one of those neighbourhoods where everyone seems to know which party planner did the last event they were at, and most of the quieter ones have us in common. We’ve spent the better part of four decades planning parties in W11 and W10 — in the stucco houses lining the garden squares, in the mews flats off Westbourne Park Road, in the larger family homes up around Ladbroke Square. It’s a neighbourhood with a very particular sense of what’s cool, and the answer, nine times out of ten, is not to try too hard.
The Notting Hill brief
Most of our Notting Hill clients want the same thing: a party that feels curated rather than corporate. Home events are by far the most common — a Saturday lunch that rolls into a garden-square afternoon, a birthday that uses the whole house instead of one room, an end-of-summer supper that somehow ends at two in the morning. Children’s parties here tend to run smaller and more design-led than some of our other neighbourhoods. Teen parties lean into music, styling and food rather than discos and bouncy castles. Adult milestones are often disguised as casual dinners until the point when they’re obviously anything but.
Venues and settings we already know
The garden squares are the great undeclared luxury of Notting Hill, and we’ve planned many events that use them — we know which residents’ associations are open to what, and how to ask. For larger events, we’ve worked with families at The Tabernacle on Powis Square (a genuinely good private-hire venue for milestones and concerts), at Portobello-end restaurants with private rooms, at Holland Park for bigger garden moments, and at the Electric Cinema for private screenings as part of teen and adult parties. Home events in houses off Ladbroke Grove, Elgin Crescent and Westbourne Grove are our bread and butter.
What a Notting Hill party costs
Children’s parties run from £1,500 for a home event upwards. Most full afternoons with theming, entertainers, catering and styling come in between £2,500 and £4,500. Teen and adult milestones sit in a much wider range — a sixteenth at home with DJ, styling and catering might be £4,000, a full private-cinema takeover or garden-square event considerably more. How much notice do you need for a Notting Hill party?
Four to eight weeks is usually enough. Around Carnival weekend (late August) allow longer — the neighbourhood’s logistics change and we plan around road closures and access.
Can you arrange access to a communal garden square?
Yes, for families with keyholder status. We’ve handled many events in W11 and W10 garden squares and we know how to approach residents’ committees. Allow two to three months for larger events that need committee sign-off.
Do you run private cinema events?
Yes — the Electric on Portobello Road is a regular part of teen and adult parties we plan. We’ll handle the booking, timing, catering and any styling the venue permits.
Do you cover Holland Park, Westbourne Grove and Kensal Green?
Yes — our Notting Hill catchment runs from Bayswater across to Kensal, and down into Kensington. Most briefs in this cluster come from W11 and W10.
